Welcome to the EBKA (Eastbourne and District Beekeepers Association) web site. The Association has been running for over 100 years and covers the areas bounded by Eastbourne, Bexhill, Heathfield and Uckfield.
We have our own apiaries located in the picturesque Sussex countryside where we regularly meet for practical demonstrations of beekeeping techniques and to swap bee stories with fellow members. During the summer we also have garden meetings where we visit members’ own apiaries, normally followed by a social cup of tea and delicious home made cakes.
The Association continues to meet throughout the winter, when the bees are inactive, with informative winter meetings. We hold our Annual General Meeting in November alongside our Honey Show, when members are encouraged to enter a pot of honey or a honey related item, such as cakes or biscuits.
We are a ‘mixed bag’ of beekeepers with varying experience. Some of our members have no bees, just an interest, whilst others may have thirty or more hives. Whatever level of interest or experience you have, or whatever age you are, you are very welcome to join us. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult member.
We hope that you enjoy looking at our web site. If you would like further details about the EBKA do not hesitate to contact us.
